Hapuna Beach
We took our time getting up on Wednesday morning and finally went down and got some breakfast at the little coffee shop place near our room (quiche, cinnamon roll and smoothies, YUM). We wandered around the cool shops at the hotel for a bit and then headed out. We headed up the coast to Hapuna Beach State Park. Hapuna has been rated as one of the top beaches in the country and it didn't disappoint. I had brought one of our boogie boards along so I handed it off to Ellen and she jumped in. She was a pro in no time, catching some awesome waves and getting beat up a bit in the surf too. I went out with her for awhile and just body surfed and then we laid out in an attempt to get a little bit of a tan, didn't help much, we're all too pasty. We didn't have a lot of time so after about an hour and a half we packed up and headed back to Hilo. We noticed that Ellen's freckles seemed to have multiplied by the hundreds in that short time in the sun. They were so adorable.
