Camp Kilohana
Back in December, Abby's Girl Scout troop was having a campout at the Girl Scout camp called Camp Kilohana which is located up on Saddle Road between Hilo and Kona. They were camping over a Saturday night and since we didn't feel like that was okay for Abby to do since she'd be camping over a Sunday and miss church we decided that she would just go up on Saturday and come home that evening. They were having a Christmas craft camp that afternoon and her leader said that Sabrina could participate so I went with the girls while Matt headed over to Kona with the boys for a few hours. The camp was great with a sort of lodge where they did all the crafts and several cabins where the girls and leaders/moms would sleep. The girls would do a craft and then go play for awhile and then come back for another craft. Sabrina was in heaven hanging out with the older girls and doing crafts. I was so grateful they let her participate. I felt bad when it was time to go home, Abby wanted to stay so badly, but they had had a fun day and I was also grateful for an opportunity to teach the girls about keeping the Sabbath Day holy.
These are their snowman ornaments.
We put these cute Santa Claus ornaments on our tree. They had so much fun making them.
This was the beginnings of a christmas tree made out of white chocolate and coconut (dyed green of course!). They made five layers in differing sizes and then put them together with frosting. I have to say, it was delicious!!!! It didn't last long after we got home.
Abby, Sabrina and Hana (Abby's BFF) playing in the trees.
The girls posing on a tree stump. Shows part of the camp and how pretty it was there. Not what you might expect in the middle of a Hawaiian island.
The girls had so much fun playing in this grass. They were pretending to be wild animals stalking their prey. Seriously, they played in here forever.
